Biography
Karina A.Clarke holds a B.A. in Spanish Literature
and African Studies from Washington University in St. Louis and
an M.A. in Spanish Literature from Loyola University in Chicago.
In 1994, Ms. Clarke spent one year studying at the Universidad de
Salamanca, in Salamanca, Spain.
In 1995, Ms. Clarke accepted her first teaching position
as a Spanish drill class instructor at Washington University in
St. Louis. Ms. Clarke then joined the faculty of Loyola University,
Chicago in August 1999, where she taught fall, spring and summer
languages classes, as well as a course at the Universidad de Alcalá,
in Alcalá de Henares, Spain. In the spring of 2001, Ms. Clarke
began teaching introductory Spanish at the prestigious Loyola Academy
high school in Chicago. In 2003, she joined the International Language
faculty for Omaha Public Schools.
Today, Ms. Clarke is principal at Tradusera,
a firm which translates documents for domestic and international
clients. Although born in the U.S., Karina's entire family is native
to Panama, where she has also lived. Her parents, Marvin and Julieta,
are her proofreaders. Karina lives in Omaha, NE.
